If their “Mirau” is the dame, the “Ambrogio” would be the knight. This is a wine that contains the essence of Nebbiolo when left to its own devices to soak up the terroir with perceptible cedar aromas. The tannins are firm and velvety.

The “Ambrogio” is a 45 years old vineyard situated in the south-east facing hills of Roddi within the Barolo boundaries. It is a secret vineyard that is usually known among the most extremely crazy Nebbiolo Aficionados. The soil is dominantly calcareous marl with some limestone and the grapes are usually harvested during the last ten days of October. After a 20 to 30 day temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine is matured for 24 months French Allier oak and left to rest in the bottle for one more year before release.
